We all know someone who suffers from seasonal affective disorder (SAD). As soon as the days start getting shorter, and the sun starts setting earlier, people with SAD start to feel tired, irritable, and even depressed.
Everyone is effected by the darker days of winter, even if you don't experience full-blown seasonal depression.
A study published in the Journal of Psychiatric Research found that people exposed to brighter light had more positive social interactions in their daily lives, and that people were more irritable in winter. Supporting studies have linked good lighting with workplace productivity, and low lighting with poor mood.
Ford believes the same principle holds true in your car.
Maybe the reason you feel so exhausted when you get home from work isn't just that work is tiring, but because your headlights were not illuminating the road well enough.
The Ford Fusion and Ford F-150 (as well as the Ford GT pictured above) will all feature "Crystal Diamond Light" LED headlights. These lights not only produce more illumination with less energy, the quality of light they emit is similar to natural sunlight. This adds up to better ability to see the road, and quite possibly, a happier mood.
